Mr Torben Toft is a Senior Expert wo previously served in the International Relations Unit of the European Commission, DG Competition.

He was responsible for the European Commission, DG Competition’s relationship with African and Asian jurisdiction where he manages enforcement cooperation as well as technical cooperation programmes sharing knowledge on antitrust, mergers and state aid control.

Following his admission to the Danish Bar in 1992, Mr Toft joined the European Commission where he has held positions in DG Internal Market and in DG Competition in units for Transport, Media, and State Aid Policy prior to joining the International Relations Unit.

Mr Toft started his career in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987, and in 1988 he began in private practice joining the law firm Van Bael & Bellis, Brussels, and later the Danish law firm, Lett Vilstrup and Partners.

Torben Toft obtained his law degree from the University of Aarhus in Denmark in 1985 and in 1987 he obtained a Diploma of Advanced European Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
