Breakfast event on ‘Driving forward with a review of the end-of-life vehicles (ELV) Directive: the next steps at EU level’, Kreab Brussels, 3 April 2019

Kreab’s sustainability team is delighted to invite you to our forthcoming debate on ‘Driving forward with a review of the end-of-life vehicles (ELV) Directive: the next steps at EU level’.

With the European Commission currently carrying out an evaluation of the end-of-life vehicles (ELV) Directive, there is a lot of discussion about ways to improve the current directive and achieve higher recycling targets, namely:

  • How to improve recycling and recover more critical raw materials.
  • How to expand the scope of the Directive to cover new technologies, e.g. electric and connected vehicles.
  • Address issues such as missing ELVs, illegal ELV treatment operations and inconsistencies between ELV and the Waste Framework Directive/ Batteries Directive.

In light of this debate and the upcoming launch of the public consultation on the review, we invite you to join us for a lively breakfast debate, which will feature two speakers:

  • Artemis Hatzi-Hull, Policy Officer responsible for ELV Directive in DG Environment, European Commission
  • Christer Forsgren, Environmental & Technical Director, Stena Recycling – tbc

The debate is part of the Kreab Policy Exchange series. Kreab is a global public affairs and communications company with a presence in Brussels since 1992.
