Hannah Kentridge

Hannah works primarily on Japan-related projects and social media. She has a BA and MPhil in Japanese Studies from the University of Oxford (Pembroke College) and is fluent in Japanese. Her research at Oxford focused on Japanese linguistics, including in-depth research on linguistic variation found in language used on Japanese social media. For over 10 years she has been running a Japanese-language YouTube channel, focusing on Japan-related current affairs and her experience in Japan. Before joining Kreab London, Hannah worked as a broadcast coordinator in the BBC World News Japanese translation unit, supporting interpreters in their simultaneous translation of live news. She holds N1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and has lived in Hyogo and Nagano Prefecture.
