[KREAB Day] “Japan’s Path to Success: Macroeconomic Conditions and the 2026 Basic Policy on Economic and Fiscal Reform” (July 29, 2026)

On July 29, we hosted “KREAB Day” at the KREAB Tokyo office, featuring Ms. Tomoko Hayashi, Senior Advisor at KREAB and former Chief Economist (DG, Economic Research Bureau) at the Cabinet Office. Her seminar, titled “Japan’s Path to Success: Macroeconomic Conditions and the 2026 Basic Policy on Economic and Fiscal Reform,” offered valuable insights into Japan’s economic outlook and policy direction.

Drawing on 39 years of experience as an economist within the Japanese government, Ms. Hayashi covered a wide range of topics, from key background knowledge to the latest policy developments.

During the Q&A session, participants raised questions about the government’s broader vision for societal change via the country’s “Basic Policy.” The session fostered an engaging and substantive discussion among all those in attendance.
