Shihoko brings her experience as a journalist for over 25 years to her communications consulting practice. At The Sankei Shimbun, she mainly worked for the Tokyo Economic News Department, covering a wide range of government agencies, business society and politics related. She also has extensive experience in overseas coverage, including international conferences such as G20, and was a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School 2006-07. She moved to U.S. PR consulting firm focusing on crisis management in 2021, where her responsibilities included media relations, public affairs, advocacy for policy implementation, and media training for major corporations and government agencies. She has joined KREAB in 2024, engaged in media training and promotional activities for major corporations and government agencies. As a research fellow at Showa Women’s University, she has authored and contributed to numerous publications on regional revitalization. Formerly a part-time lecturer at the Open University of Japan (media theory). She is a qualified policy secretary for a member of the Diet.
