Sumio Ohtsuji

As Senior Advisor, Sumio Ohtsuji supports the team with his long experience of PR, government relations, and economic and industrial trend analysis. Prior to joining our firm, he served as President of the Institute for International Economic Studies, a Toyota affiliate, in Tokyo. Sumio also spent over three decades at Toyota Motor Corporation in a wide range of roles including planning, research, and management of Toyota’s global public and government relations. In 2008, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Toyota Motor North America (TMNA). In this capacity, he was instrumental in guiding TMNA through a critical time in Toyota’s history that included the US automotive industry crisis and the vehicle recalls of 2009-2010 during the last financial crisis.
