Vanessa Abou-Khalil, Ph.D.

Vanessa Abou-Khalil, Ph.D. works with a variety of corporate and public sector clients, with focus on government relations, media research, analysis and media relations. Her areas of expertise include Japan’s foreign policy, Japan-US alliance, and Japan-Middle East relations. Prior to joining Kreab, she worked as a teacher’s assistant and gave undergraduate level lectures on Japan Diplomatic History at Kobe University. She is also a member of the Research Institute for Indo-Pacific Affairs (RIIPA).

Vanessa graduated from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon with a Bachelor’s Degree in French and Lebanese Law, and completed her doctoral and master’s degrees in political science at Kobe University, Japan. She has been a member of the Beirut Bar Association in Lebanon since 2016 and was the recipient of the government-funded Monbukagakusho (MEXT) scholarship from 2016 to 2021. She is bilingual in Arabic and French and fluent in English.
