Federico, Partner at Quipu where he leads the International Trade Practice. He is a recognized expert in trade law and policy, as well as international economic negotiations. His areas of expertise include trade in goods and services, trade-related aspects of public procurement and intellectual property, investment protection, and trade defense mechanisms. Since joining Quipu in 2020, he has coordinated numerous consultancy and capacity-building projects in trade policy across various countries in the region. Federico has also managed top-tier accounts in sectors such as mass consumption, automotive, seeds and agrochemicals, and e-commerce.

Before joining Quipu, Federico had an extensive and successful career in Argentina’s public sector, holding various positions related to international economic affairs. Most recently, he served as Undersecretary of Foreign Trade (2019) and Head of the Foreign Trade Policy and Negotiations Division (2017-2018). Leading a team of over 40 professionals, he spearheaded the conclusion of several significant agreements, including Mercosur – European Union, Mercosur – EFTA, Mercosur Public Procurement and Investment Facilitation Protocols, Argentina – Japan Investment Agreement, and automotive sector agreements with Brazil, Mexico, and Paraguay. Previously, Federico was the Secretary General of the Foreign Trade National Commission (2013-2016), where he oversaw the application of the trade defense regime, and the Coordinator of the Center for International Economy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2014).

Federico’s consulting experience is also extensive, having worked with organizations such as the European Union, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, UNCTAD, and the World Trade Organization (WTO). He regularly teaches International Economic Law at various academic institutions, including the University of San Andrés, the University of Buenos Aires, and the National Institute of Foreign Service.

Federico holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and in Law, both from the University of Buenos Aires, where he graduated with honors. He also earned a Master of Science in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
