Santi Vila Vicente

Santi Vila is a former member of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, with extensive experience in public management and institutional affairs.

He served as Mayor of Figueres between 2007 and 2012 and as Member of the Parliament of Catalonia for the Girona constituency between 2006 and 2013. He later joined the Government of the Generalitat as Minister for Territory and Sustainability from 2012 to 2016, Minister for Culture from 2016 to 2017, and Minister for Business and Knowledge in 2017.

He holds a degree in History from the University of Girona and a PhD in History from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. He has also developed an extensive academic, teaching and public outreach career, and is the author of several essays and publications on history, politics, society and contemporary thought.
