European Union, Sustainable Development and the Transformative Power of Business
KREAB presents the following report, which was developed by four students from the Master’s program in International Relations at IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs in collaboration with KREAB, as part of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in International Relations.
This report discusses the evolving concept of corporate sustainability and the changing regulatory landscape. It examines the impact of the European sustainability regulation on companies and households within the EU and highlights the recognition of the role of businesses in achieving sustainable development goals established by international entities such as the UN and EU. Furthermore, the report explores the effectiveness of regulation, the need for new measures of development, and the balance between market interests and sustainability.
